Hmmpf. I’m trying to piece a magazine together, and for the photos I have received a conglomeration of newspaper clippings, inkjet printouts, low resolution JPEGs, you name it. We have a talented scanner operator, but this is really stretching the limits. (I think her “magic wand” has about run out of fuel.)
What do these people think we do with their photos? They come in stapled, taped, folded … to me, it’s common sense to send photos in the best condition possible, and I can’t understand why they seem to feel this is good enough.
I’m guessing the answer is to give all the regional editors specific guidelines, so I’m going to research the web to see what other magazines recommend. I’m worn out trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear!
Do any of the rest of you run into this madness?!
