Background:
I'm using JAMF's Casper suite to push out CS4 to my user base, but not all of our users get the entire suite. Essentially, we create a package that contains all of the Adobe "support" files as one giant fileset, this goes to everyone in the company. Then, individual applications are pushed, depending on the user's work need. This works very well for us.

However, Acrobat 9 Pro seems to require that another CS4 ap be launched before Acrobat will start. (Yeah, that's weird, Adobe). Some of my users will ONLY get Acrobat Pro, so they can't launch it.

Direct Technical Question:
Where is the file held that contains the information that says "another CS4 ap has been launched?" I'd like to push this file to my users, but all of my days (weeks!) of searching for it have turned up nothing. Is this process coded to sniff out the MAC address of the machine and therefore unique to every computer?

Hope this is clearly explains my problem, but I'll be happy to clarify.

I do not believe there is such a file so to speak. If you have a volume
license then I believe you do not have to worry about activation issues
like the one you raise. If you have purchased several individual suites,
then you have a problem because the activation required by the licensing
software is only done via software other than Acrobat. I do not believe
there is a work around for this.

If you do not have a volume license, I cannot understand why you would
throw away money on purchasing a suite license when an Acrobat license
is sooo much cheaper.
