Default Adobe PageMaker underlined words when sent to Distiller

I can not figure out why my underlined words in Adobe PageMaker (V6.5) do not show up as underlined words when sent to Adobe Distiller (Adobe v5.0.5 full version). When I open up my PDF Document, the underline is gone. Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem and/or how to fix the settings. Is it a Font problem?
HELP!
Thanks

My graphics designer is having a similar problem and we have determined it to be related to "Times" and "Times New Roman" fonts. In TNR we get no underline and big black boxes in the lower left hand corner of the document. When we changed to "Times" everything worked fine. Our only problem is that the client still requires the other font.

Sooo... if you can live with "Times" no problemo.

Can anyone help us further ?

My versions: Pagemaker 7.0 and Distiller 6.0

Here are a couple of things you might try:

1. Open Printers & Faxes in Windows Control Panel, then open Acrobat Distiller and view the "Printing Preferences". Try checking ON the box next to "Do not sent fonts to Distiller". Also try changing the "True type font download option" to either "outline" or "bitmap" instead of "automatic".

2. In Pagemaker, make sure the File|Export|Adobe PDF|Miscellaneous setting has the "Override Distiller options" box unchecked.

Hope this helps.

From what I remember this problem relates to true type fonts. You will find that Type 1 fonts are OK.

In PM 7.0 this problem was fixed with 7.01 - a free downloadable update from Adobe.com.

I can't remember if there was a work around in 6.5 but perhaps you could also try updating to the latest version (6.5.2. or something) which should still also be a free downloadable update from Adobe.com.

Cool beans !!!! Problem solved. Thanks Gary and Russ (and Sheree for giving me a good landing point for my search),I did not get a chance to try the first one, however the update did the trick. I'll add both to my notes for future ref.
