Default Weird error message while creating a PDF

Hi,
I am getting a weird error in the log when I am trying to create a PDF file.

Here is the log file:

=================================
%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[ Error: rangecheck; OffendingCommand: endcidrange ]%%

Stack:
17864
()
()

-----snip-------

17700
($)
($)
17699
(#)
(#)
17698
(")

%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

=================================

OS: Win XP Pro w/latest updates
Program: MS Publisher 2003
When I try to print to a PDF, it goes thru the motions- asks for a filename, the squiggle spins in the taskbar, the progress window goes to about 40% and then craps out..... Log file gets displayed- no PDF.
File is a poster 48in x 48in. Tried to create a full size PDF and a 50% scaled PDF. Same error. There is an .eps file in the publication- tried with the .EPS removed- same problem.

Has anyone seen this before? Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-Vern

I don't know specifically what that error is-but most of the time I get an error from Distiller it's font related.

You can try checking the box that says to complete the process even if there is an error and see what seems to star out at you as an error. Sometimes it will still not complete, but this might be worth a try.

I would agree that often the problem stems from font problems. I think that may also be the case here due to the "cid" that is a font issue, but am not sure. You may want to also be sure you send all fonts to Distiller (uncheck button on the Acrobat Distiller printer settings tab in AA5 (you did not mention your version)). If the font is not on your system, but embedded in your file - it will need to be sent. Usually the license issue for fonts is a bit more obvious. Good luck.
