Default "Morphing objects"

Hi. I wonder if anyone know how I could "morph" two 2D objects, for example - want to morph between an black star to a black circle, using afterfx 5.5 PB. Actually, i need to morph from a siluete man (vector illustration) to a silouete dog, and so on...
Thanks,
Paulo Maka

For the morphing stuff, i found a very usefull "freeware" that can be downloaded at:
http://www.stoik.com

Very simple to use and does the job quite well if it is not a heavy-complicated morphing to do. It's a stand-alone apps (could also be used with Premiere)and you can import as AVI file.

Enjoy

well you use "reshape" to morph in after effects- here's a tutorial on it:

but for what you're doing it could be as simple as animating a mask using smart mask interpolation. rehspae might be a bit overkill as you've just got black silhouettes.

To embellish a little, if you can output a path of the man and the dog from
Illustrator you can use this filter to morph from one to another with
ideo - or you can just cut and paste paths as masks onto one layer and
simply go from one to another

try the Reshape Mask filter (Effect>Distort>Reshape) - it morphs one mask to
another - tricky but can be cool

Thanks guys...
I'll try the reshape first...than I'll find some freeware that makes it easier...
sometimes when I import an illustrator curve to AE mask, it turns into more than one mask and with the reshape I can only morph from one single mask to another...
Anyway, you've been very helpfull,
thanks a lot!
