Default NVIDIA Quadro NVS Causing Problems?

I'm working with a Dell Dual processor work station that has an NVIDIA Quadro NVS as the graphics card. It seems that with this graphics card, AE 6 is pretty buggy, and I'm wondering if my problems can be traced to the graphics card or Open GL. Anyone else have problems with this card? Is it even supported by AE 6?

Thanks

Shopping for a graphics card to replace a Matrox Parhelia 256 that ****s. Thinking about a GefORCE Quadro FX and saw this. Is this card you have related to the Q FX line? Did you get things straightened out? bw 703-236-9577

I haven't figured out if the Quadro FX and the Quadro NVS are the same yet. I think they are, just the NVS supports dual monitors. I actually have a parahelia on another workstation and it is rock solid. NVIDIA seems to have major issues with Open GL. I have to turn off all Open GL features in AE. If I don't, menus and pallets won't re-draw, and previews crash out.

The NVS is a multi-monitor 2D accelerator, aimed at the financial and corporate market. You can run 4 monitors off one of these PCI cards. A Quadro FX class board is well suited for digital content creation, thus much better suited for After Effects or 3D work. That said, any GeForceFX board is well suited for After Effects, since all AE needs is the pixel pushing power from the GPU. The Quadros are actually "certified" to work with high end 3D packages, and may contain some optimizations and presets for them.

If you are having to disable OpenGL on an Nvidia card, you need to update your driver, or maybe invest $59 in a GeForceFX 5200 card. Make sure you've looked at this doc too: <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/3164a.htm>
