Default slow preview/render in 6.5

I am working on a piece of map animation. I have an illustrator file of a wide shot of a couple of state, then go in really tight, into a neighborhood.

I had started the project in 5.5, then upgraded to 6.5. I work on a G5 dual, 512mb ram/ running OS X 10.3.

This map was imported as a comp, all layers are 3D objects. When working in 5.5, I can view the active camera in one window, while in a custom view in another window, I can manipulate the camera and see constant update in the active cam window.

Not, so in 6.5, not only can I not view the changes while I move the camera, I then have to wait about 30 SECONDS for the update.

Maybe I am using the wrong software for this project. It's back to 5.5 for me. Thank goodness I have not removed it yet.

Otherwise, I love the upgrade.

check your preview settings. Sounds like something is fouled up. You might want to also check the help files for the new features in the timline window and comp window relating to previews.

Maybe try disabling Open GL?
