Gosh, I am learning a lot from this - like the shortcuts he mentions.

I've gotten as far as Step 8 and am stopped cold.

Set the Mode for Layer 2 to Screen - got that, no problem

Then Add a Layer Mask that did it. I can't find any cmd to add a mask (I think that comes in the add-ins which I don't have)

So, I saw it was a Gradient Mask, so I added a new adjustment layer, chose Gradient. Merged it with previous. Drew the gradient line from letters to the bottom - but nothing is there to use the smudge tool on.

How do I add a mask to Layer 2?? I see his mask is in the Layer 2 frame. Mine is above it - then I moved it below, with no noticable results.
