I must be having a really "blonde day"--help with double sided printing
CS can support duplex when by printing tiled pages, but you still may have shift due to printer limitations.
1 Have your artboard dimension match your printed sheet size.
2 Center your artwork in the artboard.
3 print out and measure with ruler/line gauge how much the image printed off centered from the sheet.
4 reload the sheet in the printer so that it grips from the same side. (this makes it easier to hit the position on the back)
By reloading the sheet by gripper, you do not need to worry about if the image traveled up or down on the sheet. You only have to worry about left and right. So, fictitious amount is that the image is printing 1/8th inch to the left.
5 back side of art starts off centered on the artboard. (if artwork is landscape and printing sheet portrait, then rotate artwork 180°. If artwork is portrait and printing portrait sheet, do not rotate)
6 Fictitious amount was 1/8 inch to the left, so move the back artwork 1/4 inch. (twice the offset distance from the front. 1/8 would get it back to center, the other 1/8 is to get it to register to the front)
