Default Install/Run PS on fastest drive ?? Mythical fact ??

I know having fastest drives for scratch disks is logical, but I have
heard that running PS on fastest drives also helps.
Mythical fact ?? or Factual myth ??
Thanks, Paul

install photoshop in the first level applications folder on the system drive.

do not move or change the name of the folder, if you do updates will not work.

But would it actually make it run any slower if its placed in the user folder?

But what would the advantage be?
The only one that I can think of, would be to prevent any other user of your computer from launching Photoshop…

I don't think it would run slower. But it probably would interfere with product updates which seem to be rather touchy in OSX.

I've always just found the standard application folder to be a little over crowded with stuff that doesn't interest me, so I created a personal application folder inside the user folder for the few key pieces of software that I actually use. This was all thought out before the finder in Panther was made so much easier.

I just keep all of my apps. in the Applications folder but I put icon-aliases of the programs that I use the most in the Dock.

If you need to reach the actual program itself in the Finder, holding the mouse/stylus down on the Dock-icon takes you there immediately via "Show in Finder".
