Default Panther - Helpful Information for OS 10.3

After attempting to download a price list PDF file I suddenly got all this kind of stuff all over my Mac. I'm afraid to reboot in case it's a worm or virus.

Okay, I ran Cache Out X on the whole computer and it seems to have resolved the problem.

Never mind, Ann. What I was thinking of would not explain why it goes back to normal when quitting both programs and relaunching Safari.

Ann,

Could you accidentally be hitting the Command key and the space bar simultaneously while typing away in Word X?

Even more weird is that if you happen to have Office X/Word and Safari open at the same time, Safari will occasionally suddenly switch to Greek which, to me, IS "a whole new language"!

Quitting out of both of them and re-launching Safari seems to return it to its native language.

It's a strange quirk that doesn't always happen but has appeared on several occasions on this machine.

Word X includes certain html compatibility and may be there's a conflict between this code and Safari -- or is it just another MS conspiracy to choke Safari?
