When I launch PS CS on my Mac PowerBook G4, I get the menus, tools & palates....but the work area is not grey... its my desktop. My desktop appears thru the desktop. How do I get the grey work area?

This is how it works on a Mac just open an image. I have made my desktop gray for this reason.

there are 3 buttons at the bottom of your tool bar. you can push them when an image is open.

also "f" key (3 times) with document open

"tab" key (2 times) will hide tools/pallets

The mac isn't like a PC. There is no grey work area.

The "window of windows" Windows metaphor doesn't exist in Mac OS. The only thing that clips your document windows is the desktop itself.
