Horror genre? Hmmm. Bold sans serifs with hard drop shadows. Fonts dripping with blood. Grunge fonts. Cochin? Too pretty -- unless you want to use it as a counterpoint. For example, I can see an elegant calligraphic script used for horror -- if used in the right way.
