Default Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements

I use Photoshop 7, but need to teach some users about Photoshop Elements. Is there any reason I can't have them both installed on the same machine?

I have had PS 7 and PSE 1 loaded at the same time and could use either
program. The only problem I had was the inability to pull up PS 7 help from
within the program, although I could go directly to the PS install folder
and run the help program. After uninstalling PSE the problem was resolved.

Michele,

Both progams can co-exist just fine on the same PC.

Uh, well, then something went wrong on MY system. Installing PSE after having PS7 on my system associated all PSD's with PSE instead of PS. There were a couple of other minor issues that, in essence, makde PSE take priority for things that PS used to have - the point is, it isn't COMPLETELY transparent.

Thank goodness for me, I have GoBack and was able to revert my drive so that I didn't have to go through registry or reassociation hell.

Photoshop's installation actually allows you to elect what file formats
should be associated with Photoshop and which should be left to whatever
they were associated with before installing.

Does PSE have the same choices?

BTW, I think in your case you could have just reinstalled Photoshop and
made the file association choices again.

Yes. But it still did my droplets and PSD's.

You're probably right, but since it was the thirty day trial version, I elected to completely wipe it.
