Default Safari Color Problem

This may be more a Apple/Safari problem but i try annyway (knowing how may smart users ther are here)
I finaly got OSX op and running :-) WOW what a difrence (And i cant wait to get started with the CS2 and make some more websites :-P But first i think ill have to get a hold on OSX.

I have Set up the system as it shud be .. impoting old setting. and so.. I have also went tru the process of setting up my colorprofiles.

I have downloade the newest Firefox Netscape and Opera.

Now .. when i open my sites in Safari the colors are way of ?
It look like the JPG are using the wrong color profiles.
In <http://www.jart.dk/lef-kas/index.html> the top of the page shud match the baground color, this it dos in all browsers exept frome my Safari. In safari its darker.
All the graphic is made in sRGB and saved with colorprofiles.
When the page was made i testet it in all browsers i coud (not safari) and all lokd fine both when colorsync was on and of.
I cant even find anyplace to turn on/of colorprofiles in any of the browsers

Anny Idders ??
Hope someone can help me

Safari does see embedded profiles; as far as I know, most other browsers don't.

Did you set up your monitor profile correctly? How about your color setup in Photoshop?

Yes as fare as i know you right :-) My old IE5.1.7 on OS9 Dit suport colorprofiles
And i chekd it in that with and witouth profiles and all was OK

Did you set up your monitor profile correctly?

Yes. That im 99% shure of ... I hav chang system, not machine/monitor.. and i have try with both the original monitor profile. the "old" monitor profile calibrated on OS9 2month ago. and a brand new profile... nothing seems to do the trix ?

I cant find anywhere to "changes/disable" colorprofiles in Safari ?

Do you to see the diference in colors on the page ?

How about your color setup in Photoshop?

The Workspace setup when the graphic was made was webstandart (RGB=sRGB) and no conversion of colors was made ... And all messures was ok. Being use to Photoshop im shure i have don that part right (Im a photographer by profesion ;-) )
I havnt instalt the CS2 yet, I was thinking of taking a little tur around the system and learn it a littele befor starting new projects:-)

To mee it looks like Safari is adding the colorprofiles to the JPG as it shud .. but the rest of the page (gifs and CSS colors) are shown as they woud in a browser without colorprofiling .. making the JPG darker but lleving the rest alone

Go to the Mac photoshop forum. and read the FAQs. there is one about color management for the web.

Do not use your OS9 monitor profile for OSX. you need to make a new monitor profile from scratch. using 2.2 gamma.

<http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc105eb>

here is another site that has good info and color management.

Cant figur out why .. but i can get it to work if i save the JPG without Profile. It looks like Safari shows the JPG with a colorprofile as it shud .. But it keeps the background color as in other browsers...
In IE5.1.7 both the backgrund and JPGS with colorprofiles change when.
Well i dont find it optimal ... but it works

Yes i made a new ScreenProfile :-) I recalibrate the screen once a month ussing the native screenprofile as point 0

I have read the FAQ (And dint find anything that helpd ... The image is doing what i shud do whit the colorprofil .. Its the background that gives mee the problem by its not using a colorprofil ;-)

(Btw. Sadly i dont come to the PS forum very ofen, evrytime i have been ther i have end up end endles arguments with peapol trying to teach me what is not the trut. Last time it was abouth the D65 vs 6500kelvin)

I thought D65 was 6500K, but then I'm not that into colour profiling etc. I know I should be, but it's like filling in tax forms ... you can't get away from it, but it's very very dull.

Anyhow, welcome, Jesper, to the world of OS X ... it's what computing should be (mostly)!

Yes :-) It simulates Daylight at 6500Kelvin D for Dalight 65 for 6500Kelvin .... But Man i got out in a battle for saying that :-P...
But the bigest battle (the one taht made me leav was abouth Withpoint ;-)

it's very very dull.

Actualy No... But it can take time to learn and master ;-)

Abouth my problem .. I found out what went wrong ... (Note to myself.. Keep calibration spider out of range of 4 year old children with greasy fingers)
:-P

Anyhow, welcome, Jesper, to the world of OS X

Thanks ... What a change (Like getting a new sexlife) Comming frome OS9.2.2 to OSX.0.4 and from Adobes old Webcolection to CS2 ...WOW ... I almost feel the need to wear a tox now .. Think it will take a little time to adjust to the new inviorment and learn all the new features.. (And pogrames like Brigde) Only thing wrong i have found (so fare) in OSX is 2 spelling error ;-)

You know, I wonder what holding you back from OSX. Now you can see why.

A couple years ago before very first version of next generation OSX were introducted to market, I was rather annoyed and was ready to throw my Mac out of window and was pretty darn close to switch to Linux platform.

A hearing friend of mine urged me to be a bit more patience. I told him that I was NOT willing to wait much longer at the time. He insisted me that I should wait until Apple Computer finally released the first version of OSX. He said, "How did you know if OSX doesn't work well for you, Brian?" I asked him if the OSX was pretty much similar to NeXT OS. He said it was similar but totally different graphical interface design which looks better on OSX than legacy OS9 even much better than NeXT.

The way I understand this is that "some" of OSX technologies were borrowed from NeXT architecture.

As you probably have notice that OSX and OS9 are totally different world. OSX is operating on Unix based system. Lot of people didn't know that.

Anyway, well, my friend was pretty darn right about being patience at the time. Boy, I didn't look back once I installed OSX version version. I am twice the hard core Mac user. LOL

Once again, welcome aboard, OSX user!
