Default wrong path name when copying images

I am having a problem with copying images. It has happened ever since I
upgraded to CS2.

I have a spacer gif and I put it in a cell of the table by dragging the
gif from the site window into the page I am developing. The path
indicated in the inspector window is relative to the site hierarchy.
The path goes up several levels and down one to the folder with the gif.

Now comes the problem. I highlight the image and copy (Apple key + C)
and point to the cell where I want a copy of the image to appear, paste
(Apple key + V).

The inspector shows the path to the second image which is relative to my
Mac file system! It shows where the file resides in my Mac hierarchy
Of course, if I save the new page and upload, the image cannot be found
and is broken.

I can fix the problem by shooting to the file in the site window or
making the path in the inspector window the same as the path to the
previous image.

Looking through the Adobe GoLive forum, I find others have had the same
problem. One proposed solution was to make a new site, importing the
content from the folder structure. It then said to convert to the new
structure. I did all this and the problem persists.

The prior versions of GoLive did not behave this way. Copying an image
in a page and pasting it into the same page in a different spot was just
like copying the img src and retained the path in the web structure.

I am sure it is something simple that I am doing or some simple
preference. My wife and I have looked all over!

What am I doing wrong?

Michael
