Default Actions problem

I have a (little?) problem with recording actions. This action
should make a stroked text (not simply outlined with command + shift +
o). Its go everything OK. But when I need to set a stroke to a specified
weight (Insert menu items: Stroke weight) i wish a dialog box to specify
a value, I cant set this dialog box. I know the Ai have ability to set
the modal control, but not on Stroke Weight. Any idea?

P.S.
Sorry for my bad english writing.

Insert menu items: Stroke weight

A misunderstanding. The Stroke weight menu item refers to the command in the Select menu (Select > Same > Stroke weight). It is used to select objects with the same stroke weight attribute and has nothing to do with modifying the stroke weight through a dialog.

Why don't you simply select the text objects and modify them through the Stroke Palette?

Thanks for the hint, I see now.

I wish exactly this. But how to make the action to automatically
continue after modifying the stroke in the Stroke Palette without to
click on the Play Current Selection button in the Action Palette?

Regards

It would be helpful to know what this action is about in detail (e. g. what follows after modifying the stroke weight of the text objects?). Are you planning to batch a bunch of files? Depending on what the task exactly is about, there might be other ways like rearranging the action steps order or working with stroke styles that can be inserted into the action without having to modify the stroke weight manually.

I have a text, or just a letter. I convert it to outline. Copy the
letter. Then invert the fill and the stroke. The fill is white, and the
stroke is black. Set the stroke weight double as it in finish should to
be. Than paste the copied thing in front. Set the fill to white and the
stroke to none. Additional steps can be used, like minus front or group,
but not necessary.

The hole idea is to make the outline to go just to outside from the
middle line, not half to out and half to inside like when you just press
command+shift+o

My first idea was to make a style, but have no idea how to do this
with effects/filters.

Regards.

* Type a text, white fill, no stroke

* Appearance Palette Flyout menu: Add new stroke

* In the Appearance Palette drag the stroke field line to the bottom

* While the stroke field line is still highlighted, change the stroke weight through the Stroke Palette

* Create a new graphic style out of this appearance set

<snip>

I don't know how I was so blind. :-)

If we ever see us IRL, You have from me a barrel beer for this hint.
Until then I will drink one in Your name.

Regards.
