The biggest hassle, for me, with the new behavior, is I have gotten used to using the reference point to either drag a guide to the centre of an object (select object, select any transform tool, drag guide to the ref point) which still works, and its corollary were I would place an object close to a guide, chose a tranform tool and then use the arrow keys to move the reference point over the guide, which now doesn't work.

I haven't been overwhelmed by this, and hopefully Adobe can come up with a solution that serves us all (I also very much like CSs new speed, which appears to be, in a small way, a result of this change)
