I am a PC User and working in Adobe Illustrator CS2. When I create a graphic or just plan type in Adobe Illustrator and add a drop shadow it prints with a ghosted box in the background. How can I eliminate this ghosted box?

I've had that happen, too, but in CS1. And I don't think it's a software issue. I think it's the how the printer treats the information being sent to it.

I'm guessing you're using an inkjet and not a laser printer, yes? Once we got an eventually-working laser printer (we'll never buy from Xerox again), I could work and print from Illy instead of doing this:

I would export the artwork to a TIF and print it from Photoshop or place the exported artwork back into Illy after color-correcting (assigning a color profile mostly) in Photoshop.

I had to do that every time I had to produce something in-house that had a drop shadow, outer glow, or anything else that rendered a gaussian blur.

I can't tell from your description what the box looks like, but the outer edges of the blur, where it is very light, can be cut off if your Effect> Do***ent Raster Effect Settings> Add xx pt Around Object is set smaller than the the blur pixel radius. I have had this show up more in a print than on the screen. steve
