Default Auto font activation...HELP!

Hello,

Everytine I close an IndesignCS2 file it closes the fonts that were originally activated. How do I keep those fonts active? It drives me nuts to have to re-activate fonts just because i close out of a file. I would like my fonts to stay active untill I "Shut Down"
Any advise would very much appreciated!

Maria

What font manager are you using to activate them?

I am using suitcase and it works fine. I don't think it has anything to do with the manager. I think there is an option somewhere that allows me to be able to keep the font activated after closing the file, i just don't know where that is...does anyone?

I read an interesting article abou the pros and cons of different font managers and I think my suitcase is adequate to do the job. Placing font in the Indesign font folder is very helpful...

As I recall, if you have the Suitcase InDesign Plug-In installed, there are configuration options in the InDesign Preferences which will allow you to configure when activated fonts get de-activated.

You don't need to have the Suitcase plugin installed and actually shouldn't unless you are sure it doesnät cause you problems (depends on version). I use Suitecase X1 version 11.0.2 and don't use the auto-activation plug-ins for InDeisgn and Illustrator. The setting you are looking for is in Suitecase/Preferences/Activation/ up at the top. Until restart means until machine is restarted.
