Default High quality images degrade in PDF output

How do you have Indesign export a high quality PDF, which does not
degrade high resolution tifs? I just came back from Kinko's in my
attempt to print some quick business cards. The PDF printouts to a
full color laser were less than ideal. The full color images had
compression artifacts.

Indesign's PDF is seriously compressing the images since source images
are 30 megs x 10; and the resulting PDF is 82KB. The Indesign files is
3 megs. So the issue lies in importing the tif or printing the PDF. I
have explored the print dialog box , yet the options are daunting and
yielding no results. This situation has me completely frustrated since
my printer failed to deliver my cards for a Monday meeting.
Unfortunately, Kinko's does not have the latest version of Indesign.
Let me know if you have any suggestions for getting these print outs.
