Show text threads not working

I have show text threads selected under view but it only shoes them when I select a text thread.

It doesn't usually do this?? Any ideas.

Are you in preview mode? Do you have show frame edges enabled?

Yes, it does. Select a frame and it shows the thread it belongs to.
I would not want to have it any other way.

Ah but now I have to select a text box to see if there is a red + with text overflow.
