Default RGB Conversion

Help! We're on a mac and changed our text in Illustrator to RGB 0/0/102, saved and closed the file. When we reopened the file, the RGB percentages were something like 22/30/103. Any idea why they change? It happens to us in Illustrator 3, 8, 9, 10.

Is your document color mode set for RGB?

Thanks, Gary. I did some playing around with color management settings and also found this setting under "file" this morning. I think this could be the culprit. (I've asked one of our designers to verify.) So even if we colorize using our color palette in RGB, if the document color mode is CMYK, it would change?

Illustrator is set up now so that RGB objects and images can only be in RGB files, and vice versa. You can colorize in RGB on a CMYK document, but it is really giving you a sort of CMYK equivalent.
