Real simple here today; pulled pork shoulder (they're sweating under
wrap right now), beans, corn-o-cob, salad.

Tomorrow is leftovers day; yesterday's El Pollo Loco-style
chicken (spatch****ed a couple of hens, soaked 'em
overnight in a marinade of pineapple + lime juice with
crushed garlic, minced chiles and so on), roasted
them until the skin browned using mesquite and today's oak-fired pullin's.

Yes, indeed - thanks to all those that served,
that serve now, and to the families of those that
paid the highest price.

<SNIP Tasty List>

Doing a butt and a couple of chickens today. Tomorrow 4 racks of spares. And
BOB's onion pie, the rest is being brought in by friends and family, but
wish the wife was doing her potato salad, nobody elses comes close.

You're welcome! Did I mention I'm now certified 10% disabled and will now
get 100/mo the rest of my life? Wish I did that freakin years ago. Thank you
fellow taxpayers!

I have a couple of friends over today, and some spares on the WSM.
Later tonight I will fire up again, and put on a couple of 8# butts, to be
ready tomorrow. Sides will include grilled sausages, potato salad, beans, cole
slaw, salsa, guacamole, homemade tortillas, and whatever the friends bring.

It is tradition at my house that we doff our caps, quiet the children/dogs, bow
our heads, and observe a minute of silence in respect for those who served and
payed the ultimate price.
For those of you in this group who served,
you have my gratitude and my respect.
Thank you.
Jim.

We had ours today. Tried something a bit different.

My grill has a smoker box and an infrared rotisserie burner. I cut up some
apple wood for the smoker box and turned on the burner for that. They I put
a 14 pound turkey on the rotisserie. Made for a great combination with the
flavor from the smoke and the crispy skin from the infrared. Very moist,
very tasty.

As a side, we had an unusual potato salad. Boil the whole potatoes, then
cut up as you normally would. Cut up cooked Italian sausage and add. Dress
with olive oil and Italian seasonings. Chill. It was very good.

I'm honored to pay my share of that pittance.

That sounds too good to be reading about and not eating. The "grill"
sounds like a mighty handy contraption - is it the "Vermont Castings"
grill mentioned on your web pages?

Congrats getting that girl all matriculated Buzz!

One rack of St. Louis ribs, two racks of beef back ribs here. No guests.
Gonna enjoy the company of my overworked bride out by the pool. It's gonna
get to be around 98 here this afternoon, so we're eating at 7:30....so the
meat doesn't go on until 1.

Again.......WhooooAhhhhh! and a big thank you to all the Vets!
