Default Ping BOB, q about his onion pie

We're making that for tomorrows get together, along with a s-load of other
stuff. You think this can be made the day ahead? I'm a little iffy, but
that's purely on what I know about 3 onion casserole losing a bit of
freshness.

TIA

Yes, it will still be excellent the next day, even cold (refrigerated). BTW, I
used the frozen deep dish crust. I've heard rumors that the recipe makes about
one and a half regular pies.

My wife says a BIG thanks for the portions tip (she was gonna double it),
and thanks for the quick answer!

May you and yours have a happy Memorial. And that goes to anyone else
reading this. Hug your family and kiss your dog and have a cold one on me.

Coulda made three regular pies, or two deep ones. That recipe is so good, I
don't see a problem with either.

How did you/she bake it? Inside or outside? Smoked?

Was a good weekend. I had a couple of cold ones on/for ya!

It is damn good, isnt it? I liked it beter than 3 onion casserole, and
that's saying something. Made two pies, all gone. Need to remember to make
more next time. Cooked it in the oven, the offset was full already. I'll try
to save room for one next time and see how it cooks up that way.
Honestly, I've been a little leery of cooking stuff other than meat on thee
grill or offset, I've got a veggie tray for the grill and wasnt too
impressed by my attempts thus far, but I see you guys doing and reccomending
other things often enough to make me want to try again with something
different.

Glad yours was a happy one too. Oh yeah, your ears might of gotten red
yesterday, I told them I got the recipe from a friend on usenet named BOB.

I haven't tried this one *yet* (I keep eating all the tomatoes before I can make
the pie), but it gets rave reviews. This one actually calls for the deep dish
pie shell.
