So Far Today
First, Happy Thanksgiving Day to all and *especially* to our brave
troops, men and women, all over the world, but a wee bit more to our
troops on the front line. May they all be blessed, and may they all
come home safe.
God Bless America!
And now, for the rest of the story.
Put in the brisket at 9pm last night. Took out at 10am this morning
and was *almost* perfect. Considering it's only my second ever
brisket, I'll take an 8, thank you.
Put the kalua pig in at 12 midnight and pulled at the same time. I
checked the temp and it was at 180. I'm not sure, but that might mean
a little bit overcooked. I didn't taste it. Waiting for the gang to
get here.
Put the 21 lb. bird in at 11:30am with K getting to 475 and will stay
there for 45 min. I'll then lower to 350 and continue with Kevin's
recipe.
Marinading the chicken with tandoori until 2:15 and into the K it
goes.
Getting a cross-rib roast ready. Only garlic cloves and it goes in
about 12 noon.
The kids start arriving any minute to get ready to watch Dallas kick
butt.
The wine will be popped around 1pm.
And all is peaceful at the Lopez family in San Jose, California, where
the weather is warm, the sun is bright, and the Q'ing is wonderful!
Aloha to all
Eddie
