Yoki's in Medford
So I went for lunch there today, after hearing about it here.
Its in the business plaza at the intersection of Rt 16. and Rt 28.
There is plenty of parking in front and behind, with an entrance
on either side.
They have been open for 5 weeks now, and I was surprised to see
as many people so soon. I sat down at the bar and was immediately
given a menu and ask for a drink order. I order green tea which
came promptly. I took a quick glance over the menu and then at
the sushi neta. I asked the chef a few question and soon found out
he is the head chef of the restaurant who trained under Toru Oga.
I ordered the nigiri lunch, which was 5 pieces and a 6 piece tekka
maki. It came with soup and salad. Everything was very good, and
the service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive, but
gave you time to eat you meal.
They had a specials board on the wall behind the bar, but the chef
said it was for the waitress'es to know what they did or did not
have. He said they didn't have many special items yet, but would
soon and to ask if there was anything I would like to see. Its always
a good sign when a chef is willing to bring in special items for
the customers. I plan to go back again for lunch and make a few
suggestions for some items.
