Default 3% Milk?

They sell 0% milk (skim), and 1% milk (lowfat) and 2% milk (reduced fat)
and 4% milk (whole milk).

So why can I never find 3% milk?

Whole milk is typically between 3.3% and 3.5% butterfat.

Where can you find 4%?

If you really need 3%, you can blend whole (3.5%) milk and 2% milk.

I've seen the 4% on cottage cheese, but not on bottles.

What is, and what is the point of, fat-free half-and-half?

Also, fat-free sour cream sounds like an oxymoron.

In both cases, the point is to show off the marvelous things that can be
accomplished with plastics these days.

I was hoping for a comment from you, David. This sort of inquiry seems
right up your alley.

I don't really need it, and my inquiry was tongue in cheek. It was just
one of the weird questions that go through my mind.
