Default Day old pizza - not refrigerated

Serious question...

When you have left over pizza you forget to put in the fridge, is it OK to
eat it the next day if you heat it up properly?
Does it make any difference if done in a microwave?

Cheers,
Rick

Pepperoni and the like.

I was thinking it would nuke any bugs.

its temperature that kills bugs (the longer the better I think) your
only problem is probably things like toxins that "bugs" produce. They
might not be heat controlled. Botulism for instance (wont be on a day
old pizza) produces a toxin in anaerobic conditions that is separate
from the bug (I think).

The pepperoni might be the highest risk on a day old pizza?
IIRC its preserved meat so is quite robust, but then maybe a fly laid
some eggs on it after landing on ****. Dont want to put you off :-)

Dunno whether it's supposed to be OK, but I do eat it, usually cold. No ill
effects so far. Reheating in the microwave will make it unpleasantly soggy.
Might be marginally more risky than conventional oven reheating due to being
more likely to leave cool spots where bugs grow but don't get hot enough to
get killed.
