Jonathan's in Ogunquit
Had dinner at Jonathan's last night. Started with their "special"
elderberry martini, which wasn't very cold, wasn't very big, and wasn't
particularly special. Followed with a basket of very ordinary pasty white
rolls and little piles of lettuce with a sweet reddish vinaigrette (more
elderberry, maybe). Then entrees, which included in my group Mediterranean
Pasta, Chicken Piccata, and Caramelized Salmon. The chicken was tasty, but
there was a measly amount of sauce -- we had to ask for more to keep it from
just being two big pieces of fried chicken. The salmon was very sweet, with
a slight bitter taste under the sweetness of the glaze. The pasta had a
wild amount of garlic in it but not a lot of any other ingredient. It was
okay, but I wouldn't recommend it or order it again. Portions were quite
reasonable. Place is pleasant to look at.
