Well, you will have to try it out; it is really good with all the fruit in
it; I would leave out the marshmallows. It is then more fruit than fluff
and pudding, and that is what you have disdain for. I would not eat it the
way you are making it; it is just nothing but pudding, marshmallows a little
pineapple and Cool Whip; a lot of air. I actually love this dessert if made
with all the fruit in it, especially the bananas. I brought it to a cookout
once and everyone wanted to know what it was and kept eating it and were
surprised it was so good. They asked if it was a fruit salad or a dessert;
I said it can be both.

I dunno.. "fruit salad" to me implies fresh fruit. Not canned, heavily
sweetened fruits mixed into a sugar-fat mixture. Anything with this much
sugar would be deemed a dessert in my life.

Well, I call it a dessert and I would serve as a dessert. The fresh fruit
might not work in this dessert, because you want the fruit to be soft; not
hard. You don't want to find something hard in the mixture. It is just
something that is easy to throw together at the last minute; as you can see
it would not appeal to many people, on the other hand if they tried it, they
might like it. I love it. Mostly women like it.

well of course.. it is all sugar and fat! The only thing missing is
chocolate and perhaps something salty on the side for contrast.
Perfect PMS nosh, eh?

But, it is rather light because of the Cool Whip. I cut back on the
pudding; I don't put as much in; that can make it heavier.
