Pickles on the Prowl!
Put up 14 qts of mixed sweet pickle, a couple in pint jars with
habeneros, a couple with a chile de arbol, all with lots of durned
****sy pearl onions. But they sure look nice. Was too much product for
my largest stock pot and weren't that a juggling trick to get some of
everything in every jar!
4 Lbs of first pick of the season okra made about 8 pints of pickled
okra, with a generous amount of west Texas honey, local garlic, and my
homemade pickling spice. Remember last year our hunt for the perfect
okra pickle?
I got some more b**ts too. These are bigger, I want to cut them up
in fancy half moons & stars. Makes a lot of waste, but I like it with
a bit of butter & dill.
I hope I can get the "lemon cu***bers" cut & into ice tomorrow. They
are a perfect size for picklers, but I dunno what they look like
inside. We'll see. I want to do regular Bread & Butters and some sugar
free. No lime.
