Default The flashy color on grinded meat that comes out of the grinder

I have harvest essential meat grinder. After I used it the last time, I
ashed and dry the pieces and put them together so that it's ready for
use. I didn't use it for a long time till the other day.

I grinded about 5-6 lbs of chicken breast cubes. I noticed the
chrome/greyish color lines on the meat. Is it the metal scraping off?
Should I throw the meat away?

In the future, should I grind some stuf, say carrots first before
grinding the meat? But if the metal peels, that's not good.

Sounds to me like the metal housings weren't clean, and might have had
some food or oil residue from a precious use.

A cloth before using should clear that up.

I get that sometimes even with my Kitchenaid, stainless steel
blades and disks. And I always got it with the manual crank
machines. I could never figure out what it was. I just picked
out the obviously gray parts.

Really? I thought that manual wouldn't at all and stainless steel
would be better than the aluminum which I think mine is.

Well, I was grinding with the course one first and didn't remove those
and then grinded that meat with the finest one and so now, I guess, I
should throw all the meant away. The inorganic metal deposit in the
body is not a good idea.

I am going to post in sci.chem and see what answers I get.

Nah.

I just used my grinder to grind 3.5plbs of bacon end into bits
for frying, and I still got a couple spots of grey. I use
stainless steel blades and plates.

I'm pretty sure it comes from where the spindle meets the plate
(the hole in the plate).

I don't worry about it.
