I prefer Watties.

Yeah, they're Kiwi, but we won't hold that against them!!

At a certain age, one quits caring or worrying....

<snip>

For some of us, philistines we may be, it was **FRIED** bologna on
Wonder Bread (white bread) schmeared with catsup.

Oh. My. God. I haven't had that in ... 35 years!!!!!

There may be a reason.....

:-)

Fear?

It was probably 25 yrs between my last childhood baloney sandwich and
my next. It's scary what childhood memories food flavors and smells
can resurrect. I've been actively re-exploring my childhood culinary
history ever since. Spam, Spaghetti-O's, Malto-Meal, etc. All manner
of childhood nostalgia. Some bring memories rushing back. Others just
****. Canned-salmon patties still make me gag.

Is that brand owned by Heinz? If it isn't, I'm surprised Heinz isn't
suing them over the extremely similar design on the label.

Bottom r/hand corner of the webbage in question:

"© Copyright Heinz Wattie's Limited 2005"

Or, go to their "About Us" webbage:

http://www.watties.co.nz/html/about_us/home.asp

"Wattie's is part of the global HJ Heinz group, one of the world’s
leaders in food. HJ Heinz prides itself on listening to customers all
over the world and then delivering the flavour, food service, meals and
nutritional solutions they want."

I prescribe more caffeine, followed by vigorous forehead-slappage.

Ew! Nb, can you not at least move up to Bush's or something
similar...???

I think I'll try some BoT this

It's one of those Brit "comfort food" thingies, kinda along the lines
of a chip buttie, e.g. a french fry [crisps] sammich...

I may be doing just that, Greg. Either my can was a short fill, or
Van Camps is pulling some crap. Not only was the can filled short
with liquid, but the beans didn't start till about an inch below the
sauce. IOW, the can was only about 2/3rds full of beans. If this is
now normal, I'll submit a complaint and stop buying the product. I
realize this is common with breakfast cereal, but I haven't seen it in
canned goods.
