Any experiences would be helpful. Obviously, I can use : > sugar sweetened Craisins:-) : Yes. I made unsweetened ones in my Nesco dehydrator. I was on the raw : vegan diet at the time. I simply washed the berries and tossed them in the : dehydrator to be done at a low temp. It took many days. The end result was : light, crispy berries that seemed to be puffed full of air. : Although I liked the end result, I learned that I should have cut the : berries in half first or at least pierced them to allow them to dehydrate. : I am assuming you are not following a raw diet, so you should blanch the : berries first. This helps to break down the skin so that they dehydrate : more quickly. When I made raisins, I did blanched them for about a minute. Thanks Julie, I have now found a recipe on a lowcarb site http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/snacks/r/driedcran.htm I will try this, probabby today, lightly cooking them first to break the skins. I will let you know how it all turns out. Wendy |
