Chicken Vermouth

3 pounds Frying chicken ; cut up
4 tablespoon Flour
1 tablespoon Paprika
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
3/4 cup Butter or margarine
3 tablespoon Chopped parsley
3 tablespoon Chopped chives
2 tablespoon Slivered almonds
1 cup Dry vermouth

Skin chicken pieces if desired. Shake pieces of chicken in a paper bag
with flour, paprika, and pepper. Melt butter or margarine in a large
skillet and brown pieces over moderate heat. Turn heat down to a gentle
simmer, adding all other ingredients but reserving 1/4 cup of vermouth.
Cook very slowly for 35 to 45 minutes over very low heat, stirring and
turning pieces occasionally. Before serving, turn up heat for a few
moments and add final 1/4 cup of vermouth. Serve with rice pilaf, white
or brown rice or a gratin of potatoes. -----svbPer Serving (excluding
