Default Saturdays at Alive and Kicking

Saturdays in Cambridge are a good day for the
Alive and Kicking Lobster Sandwich
http://www.bostonphoenix.com/boston/...s/03114719.asp
it's best to call ahead...ask for Maggie ! tel 617 876 0451
You can get them prepared without the mayonaise, without the butter
or with that on the side. Alive and Kicking is
across River Street from the Whole Foods Market
two doors down Putnam Street at 269 Putnam.

Weekends the seafood is day fresh.

Last time the lobster sandwich could have been bigger and on a better
quality type of bread !

Unless you have some reason to believe that the owner of the
establishment monitors this newsgroup, your comments are misdirected.

In Mr. Saklad's defense I'll note that others (including myself) on
this channel have offered various gripes about various offerings that,
as you point out, aren't being read by the purveyors in question and
thus probably aren't going to result in any changes. Still, a negative
review has value in that it can warn others away from a bad situation.

Besides, when Mr. Saklad does us the honor of posting a msg that
isn't content-free, I think we ought to encourage such behavior... ;->

I'll give you that he was on topic, but I think his message is still
content-free. We do not have a description of the sandwich as served
(size, bread, price) so that we might form our own judgment of its
value, nor does the original post indicate even a general location for
the establishment in question. Most of us, even when complaining, at
least provide _some_ context.

What are you talking about? He gave more info than anyone else
usually gives. Cambridge, River St Whole Foods, 269 Putnam,
what more do you want?

Joanie,

I did not see the original post. All I saw was Don's second post, which
read, in its entirety, with no indication that it was a follow-up to
anything earlier:

"Weekends the seafood is day fresh.

"Last time the lobster sandwich could have been bigger and on a better
quality type of bread !"

I apologize for suggesting that any critical information was missing.

Dick

I think this ia the first time I have ever seen Don reply to a message.
Did they upgrade the software? :-)

BTW - I've had the lobster salad sandwich at Alive and Kicking and I
don't care for the bread either. I think they use bulkie rolls. I like
toasted and buttered hot dog rolls for lobster sandwiches.

On the contrary, Don is to be *PRAISED* for offering an opinion and
stating his basis for his opinion.

Too often Don has been criticized for merely asking questions and
not sharing opinions. This post by Don was a very welcomed
participation in this newsgroup by Don, and I hope he continues to
post his opinions and the basis for those opinions.

Keep it up Don!
