Default Recommendations in Newcastle

We shall be visiting Newcastle Upon Tyne this weekend. Grateful for any
recommendations in the City Centre and Byker. I have a copy of the
current GBG but haven't visited Newcastle for a while.

Cheers, Graham.

The Cluny, the Cumberland Arms and the Free Trade all serve good beer esp.
the Cluny with imports. All located, sort of, between the City Centre and
Byker.

The Duke of Wellington on High Bridge served a spectacular pint of Mordue IPA
the other night (3 screens of miscellaneous sport did my head in though).

The Bridge & the Crown Posada in the City Centre.

A GBG recommendation, the Hotspur, was dire recently. Bodega is indifferent
too.

The Forth on Pink Lane - very studenty but a cracking pint nonetheless.

The three Head of Steam pubs always do great beer

Lots more pubs do a great pint but these are ones I get to frequently so I
know for certain good beer is guaranteed.

Jeff, brilliant! The Cumberland Arms and the Forth Hotel are pubs that
we have not previously visited. An oversight that will be corrected this
weekend!

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply, much appreciated!

Cheers, Graham.

Just remember that Newcastle United are playing at home on Saturday so the
pubs might be a little more rowdy than usualy.
