Not here, using my newsreader (Agent).

As far as I'm concerned, Googlegroups is the best way to search
newsgroup postings, but for actively participating--reading and
answering current messages--it's among the worst possible ways to do
it. In fact, if that were the only available choice, I'd probably give
up on newsgroups.

One of the many reasons that a newsreader is much better than web
access like googlegroups is that a newsreader lets you build filters
to ignore spammers, trolls, and other similar polluters of the
newsgroups.

I did all that, Cygnia, but all the spam is still there. Now what?

Have you been clicking the "x" next to the spambots' addresses and
hitting refresh afterwards?

I don;t see an X. There is a star I can click on and highlight. I did
that and hit refresh - and nothing happened.

Hey WW,

I also use "Agent" newsreader and have for years. It's not a very
expensive piece of software and is very easy to configure.

I believe I spent about $30 for it.

I only see spam one time. The filtering in it is great.

Google is an ok generic newsreader, but it is generic and free. Like
most things in life that are free, it isn't very good.

Good luck to you man. If you do buy "Agent", I'd be glad to help you
learn and use it.

Hi, Fisherman - Thanks, but no thanks. I don't want to buy a program
just to clean up the spam on this one sparsely populated forum here.
I just look at one other google forum - gps. That one isn't besieged
by spam.
