sometime in the recent past wwerewolff@yahoo.com posted this:

WW, are you using any type of email/newsreader like Outlook or Thunderbird
(my preference) or do you just use IE to connect to your yahoo account.

I connect to the internet via Time Warner Cable. As my Internet Service
Provider, they give me a up to 5 POP email accounts. From there, Thunderbird
lets me set up email or news accounts. Your ISP may have POP email access
available to you, but you would need to call and then set up the email
address & password with them. You would also need to know what their POP
server address is along with their SMTP server address. Sounds technical,
but that's the nature of computers. You can still use Yahoo until you got
the bugs worked out with the other.

As you read, Eternal-September.org can't reply to ATT & BellSouth addresses.
I'll help with what I know and I'm sure there are others here that can too.

Hi, Wilson -

I just use Firefox and Opera, that's it. Never used Outlook or
Thunderbird and don't know why I'd want to.

I never did figure out the whole POP thing. I just use Yahoo for
email and just go straight to it via the above browsers, and as I've
speculated in the past this is an awful lot of trouble just to be able
to drag up an old thread about raw fish, but thanks for helping all
the same!

No, you don't need Outlook or Thunderbird, just that the setups for the POP
are different on each. I, on the other hand, have never used Opera which
appears to operate as both browser & email/newsreader.

Not a problem. If you find a need to figure it out, give a holler.
