Last night at dinner a friend was telling me about duck foot soup and I just
found it hard to believe. Is there really a soup with duck’s feet? How
would that be made?

Probably Chinese or Thai. I work with a particularly squeamish woman who
literally shuddered as I described the markets in Bangkok where the chickens
and ducks are hanging by their necks, freshly plucked, feet attached and the
fish (whole, heads and tails) are in melting tubs of ice with rock salt to
help preserve them.

The same way you’d make chicken feet soup.
