Default Ropiteau and Chasse Spleen

Extremely hot weather and no one felt like staying inside so we did some BBQ
lamb and sat outside looking for a cool breeze with:

1984 Ropiteau Echezeaux - browning with a mellow mature nose with w definite
hint of ripeness, sweet entry and then it tightened and faded. Didn't last long
in the glass.

1986 Ropiteau Echezeaux - better colour, better fruit, the nose in fact very
good old Burg, and more stuffing, decent length and it held in the glass well.

1989 Ch. Chasse Spleen - I haven't touched my stash of this yet, but it is an
excellent wine. Quite dark with a nose that started out as lightly perfumed,
and then really opened up with currants and vanilla. The tannins are present
but fairly well resolved and it was tasty indeed with a nice long finish. This
is hitting prime time now and will hold for quite awhile.
