Iraqis offer bounty for US officials

Wednesday 28 April 2004, 16:06 Makka Time, 13:06 GMT

Resistance fighters in the Iraqi city of Falluja have placed a $15 million
bounty on the heads of key US occupation figures, including Secretary of Defence
Donald Rumsfeld.

The reward is also offered for the capture of US Commander in Iraq,
Lieutenant-General Ricardo Sanchez and US occupation forces' spokesperson in the
country, Brigadier Mark Kimmit.

A leaflet displaying pictures of the three wanted men offers "15 000 000 $ as a
reward who bring one of these three heads (sic)". The "Islamic resistance in
Iraq" is asked to be contacted.

Leaflets were distributed in Falluja after US occupation forces' heavy
bombardment of the city overnight on Tuesday.

In the days leading up to Saddam Hussein's capture, the Bush administration
placed a reward of up to $25 million on the former Iraqi leader's head.

Saddam was the Ace of Spades in the US' controversial set of 55 playing cards
depicting "the most-wanted members of the former Iraqi regime". Occupation
officials say 44 of the 55 on the list have been caught or killed so far.

The US has a $10 million bounty on Saddam's former deputy Izzat Ibrahim al-Duri,
the highest ranking former Iraqi official still at large. Rewards of $1 million
have also been announced for help in catching the other dozen fugitives.

Well, that's saved them from being fragged.
Now their troops can simply hand them over an retire.

Could an unsound theory be resonable?

Thanks,

it could surely sound reasonable to very large numbers of people.....
how else to approach idea like the universe being made in 5 1/2
earth days....
or the theory that 1 = 1 when it clearly cannot.....
or that the universe revolves around the earth (possible the least
ridiculous of my examples)

perhaps reasonable is another word meaning 'plausible to silly
hairless monkeys'

i would rather come a time when each time we are unsure we look
at the real world rather than thinking in terms of 'theories'.....

what do you think given my reply?

this *may* be of interest of use to you....

To take a crack at my own question (after taking 2 seconds
to contemplate it), I think that the answer would be an
emphatic 'yes' because 'resonableness' is clearly a function of
'ignorance', and that is a property which all of us have to one degree or another.

I think you are right.

Actually it is, and it would be even more so if I were not
fixated on politics at the moment. A very nicely done site in
general I might say!

On the original subject, I have to think that the reward is
something of a joke (and a funny one) by the Iraqis. I don't
know how they would implement the proof and pay-off, and how the
collector would manage to enjoy the rest of his time on earth.
Frankly, I do feel the world would be better off if someone
somewhere goes for it (and suceeds.)

Thanks,
- Tom

What did you expect?
They are bribing US servicemen to hand over their generals.
The US servicemen wouldn't accept any other currency, hell they probably
don't even know there IS any other currency:-))
BTW you are getting there, well done:-))
