In paragraph 6 of the newsstory:

"The bitterness of the current fighting is

Marine officer] sent to the wives of men
in his command after an ambush and
five-hour street battle in the nearby town
of Ramadi in early April that reportedly
left a dozen marines from one company
dead."

Here, "reportedly" plays the part of a
wiggle word.

In the wiggle world --the world of wiggle
words-- no one admits that scores of
Marines were wiped out by the Iraqi
resistance.

So what did this Marine officer tell the
wives?

The answer's in paragraph 16:
`
"Yesterday, the enemy upped the ante.
The enemy did not run; they fought us
like soldiers. And we destroyed the
enemy like only marines can."

OK, dumbass, lets re-elect him so that he can finish the job. I'll take the
blame right along with him. So will any other American with any guts and
willingness to stand up to terrorists and degernerate tyrants. That
includes the hundreds of thousands of brave souls in our military, including
my son who is in Afghanistan.

Now, is there anyone on this group who actually discusses the culture of
Afhganistan? I foolishly came thinking that might be the case and that I
could learn something.

The Marines have to try and keep the facade that they are superior, no
matter the reality. How else are they going to get more bullet takers
to enlist?
