Prime Minister Paul Martin laid out his vision for the future of the
Canadian Forces Wednesday, announcing funding commitments that the
Opposition immediately dismissed as pre-election regurgitation of
previous announcements.
During a speech before soldiers at CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick, Mr.
Martin announced that the Canadian Forces is committed to maintaining
a presence in Afghanistan until at least the summer of 2005
