President cited his September 11th Investigative Commission "grilling"
today as enjoyable. "I came away good about the session." Equally obviously, this description of how he viewed such a serious event didn't go down well with at least one widow of one of the victims. The meeting itself raised controversy. A white house lawyer and two staff members attended as well as members of the Commission. The meeting was otherwise closed. Surprisingly, this important meeting was unrecorded, a significant break in the way American Presidents do business. Less obviously, there is to be no official transcript of the meeting. Imagine trying to impeach Nixon with no transcripts. ------------------ Later there was a press questions session. President Bush stated he wasn't answering questions on what was discussed at the Commission meeting. Bush and Cheney had appeared TOGETHER at the Commission Meeting instead of separately as they had been asked. John King of CNN asked him about appearing with Cheney. He stated he wouldn't have appeared at all if they had anything to hide. The President was asked if he could confirm whether or not there were current active operatives of Al-Q'ida in America. "No, I can't say that." When asked if the Commission asked him about this, he replied in the negative, stating then that he had said wasn't going to comment, but that "that was before I fell into your trap." Devious ol' media types... "President Cheney" apparently answered "a lot of the questions" at the meetings and George "answered all the questions they asked me." The bottom line is, Cheney, the Vice President, sets foreign policy. So if something happens to Bush, the figurehead, Cheney simply takes over the driving, as opposed to instructing the chauffeur where to go. Closed meetings. Vice Presidents setting foreign policy. No transcripts of official meetings. Now the secretive methods of corporate criminals are being used to back up the methods of war criminals waging pre-emptive aggressive wars.
