One thing the article didn't put in and that was later on the illegal
immigrants admitted that they were only wanted to come into Australia for a
better life.

They also name two to three people living in Australia (who were refugees
from Turkey now with Australian citizenship) that came to their home town
telling them about the good life in Australia.

I didn't hear and response from Senator Brian Harradine in regards of the
admittance.

It is clear evidence that those 14 illegal immigrants wanted to come into
Australia for a better life and mind you this is old news back in October.

There are two sides of the story.

It sickens me how our government can turn a blind eye to these people in the
name of terror and for political gain.
The Howard government continue to use this line to install fear in the
Australian people. How American is that??

I wouldn't necessarily say in the name of terrorism but they tried to come
in illegally. Nor would I call that a blind eye. Australia has enough to
cope with instead of an extra headache with a rush of illegal immigrants
that wishes for a life (that the same group of people and philophesy they
rejected and many with hatred) are currently wishing for.

There are plenty of people waiting in queue to come into Australia the legal
fashion but have to wait further because of these people pushing in front of
the honest immigrants. There has to be a voice for them too.

Those 14 illegal immigrants admitted that they were not refugees and since
they were going down, they didn't want to go down on their own so they
blabbed on the smuggler that were living in Sydney.

Funny thing that those smugglers on a previous occasion claimed that they
were political refugees from the same hometown as the 14 so that leaves me
the question that is their original claim truthful and honest?

There were also many other questions to so the genuiness of being refugees
and they have gone to a closer port but instead want to head for Australia.

It may be cruel to be kind but I prefer to be hard on those people as an
example to the world that Australia cannot accept illegal immigration.

Also remember the fact that there are plenty of other countries that have
stricter penalties for illegal immigration. Such harsh penalties includes
whipping to both the illegal immigrant and the that harbours them and they
are swiftly sent back courtesy of the country they came from.

An analogy would be that I am sure that you will take offence if I decide to
walk into your home, go to the refrigerator and grab some food, sit on your
sofa, placing my feet on the coffee table while playing on your play station
and then maybe go to your bedroom and sleep for a while. When you complain,
I start to shout louder to drown you out.

The same thing can be said to the illegal immigrants. They are detained for
a while for security check and once cleared and proven to be genuine, they
are give a special visa to temporary live in Australia. Once their home
land is safer it would be better to send them home and restart their culture
that has been through their previous generations and generations before
that.

It is a shame that the 14 who are giving the genuine refugees a bad name
because of their selfishness so my suggestion is to blame them and not the
current government.

Did you miss the part where the ones we are talking about
were all proven (by self-admission) to be frauds? Nothing to
do with fear and terror, it's more to do with these people
being scurvey sheister bastards. Got no probs with
legitimate refugees, but "I can't afford to eat T-bone and
watch tele at home" is not grounds to be a refugee, it's bad
fucking luck, fix your own country.
