No, IMHO for both of them. They are here, but I don't think that they have
the same status here as in the US.

Bigger portals (entry-points without specific content) here are e.g. aon.at,
austria.com, contator.net, austronaut.at - biggest international are
google.com, msn.com, ...
As usual, news-sites are portals for many people, too. derstandard.at,
krone.at, diepresse.com, networld.at, kleine.at, orf.at, and many more are
starting page for surfers in Austria.
