Cleric sentenced for murdering student Staff Report SUKKUR: The head of a madrasa was on Tuesday sentenced to death by a session judge for the gruesome murder of one of his students and then burying him inside the madrasa. The third additional session judge of Sukkur, Naseem Akhtar Shaikh, ruled that Maulana Abdul Razzaq slaughtered Iqrar Mirani in the beginning of 2000 and then buried the body in the compound of the madrasa in the Bachal Shah Miani area here. Maulana Abdul Razzaq, who had been arrested as a suspect soon afterwards, confessed to the crime during interrogation. |
