Islamic Movement: Aqsa is in danger

Um Al-Fahm - The Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied Palestinian areas has
warned the Zionist entity of serious repercussions in the event it persisted
in allowing aggression on and desecration of the holy Aqsa Mosque.

The Islamic Movement in a statement asked the Zionist government to desist
from such practice and to return responsibility over the holy site to its
legitimate owners.

The statement charged that the recent Zionist military assault on
worshippers in the Aqsa Mosque last Friday was premeditated and warned that
the Zionists were planning a new bloodbath in the holy Mosque.

It noted that massacres were repeated every three to four years in the Haram
Al-Sahrif other than the continuous aggressions, preventing maintenance,
barring entry of certain age categories and others.

The statement concluded by affirming that the "Aqsa is in danger" and added
that recent events only endorsed the Movement's conviction in that regard.

The principal dangers to al-Aqsa are the activities, encouraged by several
prominent Palestinians, that endanger the Western Wall and the Southern
Wall. While both of these are holy to Jews, the walls are, in an
engineering sense, retaining walls that support the foundations of the Dome
of the Rock and al-Aqsa. Simply put, damage the retaining walls enough and
the mosque and shrine will collapse.
